We Are Having A Baby!

IMG_0734Its 2015 and we have definitely been M.I.A. We apologize for the neglect and have some exciting news…WE ARE HAVING A BABY! On August 24th, 2014 we found out we are going to be parents. After nearly 10 years of marriage with no children, we unexpectedly became pregnant. It was news that brought mixed feelings for us both. We were surprised, excited, nervous, and again surprised. Before it could really sink in our lives were flipped upside down when the “morning sickness” kicked in. There was no restriction to the sickness being in the morning and it was worse than we could have imagined. From morning until night every single day for 9 weeks I was nauseous and throwing up. I don’t mean to sound dramatic , but there were a lot of days, I would just lay there and cry. The feeling was wearing and unbearable. I tried every natural remedy I could find. Nothing worked. Christopher was truly my rock and strength during this time. He was so patient, kind and loving. He handled all the house duties, took care of me and went to work. I usually stayed the weekends with my mom while he worked because I needed care around the clock. Finally 14 weeks into my pregnancy, the fog began to clear. I was just about back to my normal self when Thanksgiving came around. I remember sitting at Thanksgiving dinner, whispering prayers of thanksgiving to God for being able to sit at the table and eat all the delicious food. This may sound strange to you but just imagine having the stomach flu for 9 straight weeks and you might realize those prayers don’t sound too odd. By the end of November I was getting my strength back, starting to gain weight (I had lost about 7 pounds) and was beginning to see a little baby bump. We were really getting excited about this new little life growing. And then on December 7th we found out the gender of our baby with all our friends and family…
