The Great Gardens

Apparently size mattered to King Louis XIII! He was not kidding when he built the gardens of Versailles. The immensity of the gardens is hard to explain with words or pictures. The best option is to take them in with your own eyes. Just to give you an idea, the gardens cover 1,976 acres with 200,000 trees and 50 fountains. It is magnificently breathtaking!
Christopher and I had the privilege of spending a whole afternoon in the gardens. That afternoon happened to be my 30th birthday. I could not think of a better way of celebrating 30 years than wandering and biking through perfectly manicured gardens in France. I mean, really?! Is this real life?
The vastness of this place was the kind that made you feel small yet somehow significant. Like you were walking through some sort of a maze anxious to see the greatness around the next corner. It was a dream I never dreamt before.
